Steel Fitter

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Steel Fitter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for fabricating, assembling, and installing steel structures and components according to specifications. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong technical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the layout of steel components.
• Measure, cut, and shape steel materials using various tools and equipment.
• Assemble and fit steel parts to form complete structures or sub-structures.
• Weld, bolt, or rivet steel components together.
• Inspect and test completed structures to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
• Operate and maintain tools and machinery used in steel fitting.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Collaborate with other team members and supervisors to ensure project timelines are met.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in steel fitting or a related field is preferred.
• Proven experience as a Steel Fitter or in a similar role.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
• Strong knowledge of steel properties and fabrication techniques.
• Skilled in using hand and power tools, welding equipment, and measuring instruments.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical condition and stamina.
• NVQ Level 2 Blue CSCS is a must
