The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-driven Paraplanner to join the Financial Planning team. This role allows you to make a real impact by supporting advisers and clients with a wide range of financial planning needs.

• Approximately 75–80% of your time will be spent preparing suitability reports, supporting documentation, and client correspondence
• The remainder of the role involves research, compliance checks, and contributing to efficiency and process improvements within the team
• Work closely with advisers to ensure client recommendations are accurate, compliant, and actionable
• Work will be based in the Blackburn office, with flexibility for hybrid working under the firm’s flexible working policy

Key Responsibilities

• Research financial products, funds, and solutions to support client advice
• Prepare suitability reports, supporting documentation, and client correspondence
• Identify opportunities and areas for improvement within client portfolios
• Assist advisers with pre-sale compliance checks and project work
• Support the adoption of AI tools and other technology to improve efficiency and productivity
• Contribute to process improvements and innovation within the Financial Planning team

What we’re looking for

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in paraplanning
• Financial Planning qualifications or actively working towards them
• Experience in pension switches, group pensions, cashflow modelling, investment and protection advice, inheritance tax planning
• Comfortable using AI and other tools to support paraplanning work
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage a busy, changing workload
• Proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and ideally financial planning software and tools
• Minimum GCSE passes in Maths and English
• Team player with a commitment to long-term professional development
