  • Support junior staff development, identify improvements to quality and efficiency, and contribute to overall departmental operations
  • Commercial responsibilities include managing budgets, client invoicing, and ensuring timely collection of fees
  • Work will take place at client premises across Lancashire and North Manchester, in the office, and occasionally from home under the firm’s flexible working policy

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver audit and accounts assignments from planning to completion
  • Review and prepare financial statements in accordance with FRS102 / FRS102-1A
  • Provide technical accounting guidance and support to clients and the team
  • Manage and mentor junior team members, identifying training needs and providing development support
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring excellent service
  • Contribute to process improvements, quality assurance, and operational efficiency
  • Oversee budgets, client invoicing, and the collection of fees

What we’re looking for

  • Significant experience within accountancy practice (audit or mixed audit/accounts)
  • Strong technical knowledge and ability to manage multiple client engagements
  • Proven experience supervising and mentoring staff
  • Commercially aware, organised, and able to manage client and team expectations
  • Ambitious and motivated to progress towards Manager and beyond

Why apply?

  • Join a well-established and respected North West firm with a strong reputation in audit and advisory
  • Manage a varied client portfolio while developing senior-level skills
  • Lead and mentor junior colleagues within a collaborative and supportive team environment
  • Flexible working policy, including office and home-based options
  • Clear pathway for career progression to Manager and beyond
  • Competitive salary, bonus scheme, and comprehensive benefits package
