Interim Management Accountant (3‑Month Contract)

About the role

We are looking for an experienced, qualified Interim Management Accountant on an initial 3‑month contract.

This role has arisen to provide short‑term cover while we progress a permanent hire and is suited to a confident Management Accountant who is comfortable stepping into an established finance function and taking ownership quickly.

Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, you'll be responsible for key areas of month‑end, compliance preparation, and weekly management reporting, as well as providing senior support to an Assistant Management Accountant. This is a delivery‑focused interim role, requiring minimal hand‑holding and a pragmatic, solutions‑driven approach.

The role is hybrid, based in Trafford Park office, with flexibility to work from home two days per week.

Overview of the role

• Owning key areas of the month‑end close and balance sheet control
• Preparing compliance data (VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax)
• Producing and distributing weekly gross margin management reports
• Supporting process improvements and ad‑hoc finance requests
• Providing guidance and oversight to an Assistant Management Accountant

About you

• Fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or qualified by experience
• Strong, hands‑on management accounting background
• Comfortable taking ownership from day one in an interim environment
• Advanced Excel skills for reconciliations and reporting
• Strong attention to detail with a clear control mindset
• Confident communicating with finance and non‑finance stakeholders
• Reliable, professional, and able to meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision
