Every May marks National Share-a-Story Month, a celebration of storytelling and the power it has to unite people. This year’s theme is Travelling Tales, which is fitting for the history of Proman, and our journey from one small office in Southern France to over 300 offices worldwide.
Proman was founded by the Gomez family in 1990, who saw the need for a robust, reliable recruitment agency to fill a gap in the market. Leaving his role as a coppersmith, Roland Gomez opened the first Proman branch, which in just over a decade multiplied to 70 offices across France.
By 2015, Proman had established a European presence, with 200 branches and a total of 10,000 temporary workers placed a day across France, Monaco and Switzerland. During this time of fast expansion the Gomez family saw an opportunity to continue their rapid growth by moving into the UK market.
Upon finding Heads Recruitment, Proman felt this was the family-owned, cash-rich labour provider that would aid growth across the UK. With a Bradsheet report score of 99/100 and a healthy £7 million on Balance Street, Heads not only matched the group’s dedication, passion and value-driven solutions, but also had the finances and reputation to continue Proman’s success.
In the past four years, Proman has grown by over £25 million within the UK, with no signs of stopping. With 19 branches spanning from Manchester to London, we are constantly the hunt for acquisitions to continue on our journey.
For Proman, this is very much just the beginning of our story. If you want to play a part in our future accomplishments, or are inspired by our history, contact us for a confidential chat about how we can help you achieve your success story.
