Interview with Anna

31/10/2018

With 13 years’ experience recruiting for Proman, previously Heads Anna focuses on providing the company with knowledgeable and experienced candidates for both temporary and permanent positions. In this interview, you’ll find out why Anna enjoys every moment in such a dynamic, fast paced and highly competitive industry.

1. How long have you been working for Proman?

I have been with the company for over 13 years.

2. How long have you been in the recruiting industry?

I began my career in recruitment 13 years ago. All of my industry related experience comes from Proman, previously Heads.

3. What’s your greatest achievement at work?

My greatest achievement would be the day I was chosen to have the responsibility of finding talented individuals to join our ever-expanding business. I guess it means that they trust my judgement. It’s a great feeling working for a company who invest as much into you as you do to them.

4. What is your funniest memory in work?

I am sure that there are quite a few. One that springs to mind is when I wrote the e-mail to my favourite client about a new candidate ... It was something along the lines of “The candidate was very enthusiastic but unfortunately he couldn’t complete his full shift…” The problem was that I forgot about the ‘f’ in the last word of the sentence so it read very differently! Luckily, my client saw the funny side. Funny that spellcheck cannot always do the trick!!! 

5. What do you enjoy most about your role?

I enjoy recruitment in general. It gives you a chance to speak to many different and interesting people. It also gives you the satisfaction of helping people to find the right job and making sure that your client, in my case colleagues are happy too.

6. Why did you choose to go into recruitment?

Honestly, I was looking for a long-term office role and the agency that I came to register with had a vacancy for me which was working in recruitment. I chose to give it a go and here I am 13 years later! Recruitment is a good and fulfilling role.

7. How do you take your coffee?

I like my coffee milky with no sugar and I am a BIG mocha lover too!!!

8. What inspires you?

Doing brave things inspires me. Brave and good people inspire me too. People who are ready no matter what, to do things they believe in and also those who are ready to say things that are not always easy for other people to hear or accept.

9. If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you be and why?

I would like to be a Lion; strong, fast and brave.

10. What the best advice you could give someone looking to use a recruitment agency?

Choose the agency that gives you plenty of attention from the very first minute. Go with somebody who asks questions about your requirements and your business. Ask the agency how they can help you and if you are happy with what you hear trust them!!! Do not just look at the price of the service but look at what is on offer. After all, you will be looking to establish a long-term relationship! The agency should become your recruitment partner.

11. What are the biggest challenges you face on a daily basis?

People are challenging! The majority of people are nice but they are also challenging, plus we do operate in a competitive market so we need to ensure that we can attract good talent.

12. What do you work toward in your free time?

Recently I have been trying my hardest to put myself back into some sort of shape after becoming a mum for a 2nd time. I’m making sure that I keep myself fairly fit before celebrating a big 40 later this year.

13. What’s the most interesting thing about you that we wouldn’t learn from your CV?

I have two lovely children with a 10-year gap between them. I am a friendly person with nice small family -lucky enough to have a great partner, caring mother and a lovely sister who are all great friends of mine.
