Shift Engineer

Working hours: Continental shift pattern (12-hour shifts 06:00-18:00 & 18:00-0600, includes evenings and weekends)

Salary: circa £42,512

We are currently looking for a motivated individual to join our team as an Electrical/Mechanical Engineer. The focus of the role is to ensure safety regulations and policies are adhered to and to ensure preventative maintenance is conducted on time to a high standard and to provide high levels of equipment availability through continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Ensure Health & Safety best practices are carried out in all work activities 
  • Assist with the development and implementation of Group Engineering standards for the business and ensure compliance at all times
  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance on the full range of equipment within the site
  • React quickly to breakdowns, communicate clearly with affected parties and work efficiently to fix the issue
  • Support continuous improvement by learning from breakdowns and sending feedback and suggestions for improvements to the management team
  • Be able to communicate and cooperate with colleagues at all levels in order to achieve goals and maintain product quality
  • Liaising with external suppliers and contractors

     Qualifications:

  • Multi skilled in both electrical and mechanical disciplines
  • Experience of working within the Food & Drink sector
  • Experience of planned preventative maintenance systems
  • Experience of fault finding with industrial machinery
  • Experience of interpreting both mechanical and electrical drawings
  • Served a full engineering apprenticeship and/or qualification of NVQ level 3 or equivalent
  • Experience of PLC logic would be an advantage
