Machine Operator Night Shift

Preston

Night Shift 37.5hrs per week

 Mon – Thurs – 9:45pm – 6:30am

Friday – 6:45pm – 11:15pm

Salary: £14.30 - £16ph

 

Machine Operator Purpose

Sets up, operates and dismantles a variety of production equipment. Performs functional quality tests.

Machine Operator Working Hours

Monday night through till Friday AM 9.45pm till 6.30am (4 days @ 8.75hrs including 30-minute lunch break – 33hrs total) then Friday evening 6.45pm till 11.15pm (4.5hrs no break) – total of 37.5hrs per week.

Responsibilities of Machine Operator

  • Candidates should demonstrate an understanding of the functions and basic mechanical workings of most machines under limited supervision
  • Performs appropriate functional quality tests for operations performed on all equipment
  • Has a working knowledge of job-related policies and procedures
  • Complies with all required safety practices and regulations
  • Trains new operators in finishing operations

    Accountabilities of Machine Operator

  • Consistently achieve productivity targets
  • Maintain optimum quality at all times
  • Complete accurate job records – time recording
  • Maintain optimum Health and Safety standards and keep press and work area clean at all times

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Good general level education.
  • 1 - 3 years of related experience operating production equipment
  • Experience of operating high-speed production machinery
  • Experience of working on a production environment to high quality standards and meeting targets and deadlines
  • General computer skills and numerical skills
  • Ability to use initiative with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Flexible approach with the ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Would suit someone with good general knowledge and hands on skills
  • Nilpeter and/or RFID experience would be an advantage
