Health and Safety Coordinator

Role Description:

 

You will be supported by the Health & Safety Manager to develop your health and safety knowledge.

 

You will be supporting the Health & Safety Manager in accident investigations, enforcing company H&S policies & helping to improve employee communication.

 

As you develop your health and safety knowledge you will provide advice on health and safety matters and assisting with site inspection.

 

This role also offers an excellent and exciting opportunity for development to progress into the Health & Safety Manager role

 

 

Skills, Experience, and Education Required

 

  • Wanting to develop your career in Health and Safety
  • Qualification in occupational health and safety, such as IOSH Managing Safely as a minimum.
  • Will be expected to develop education to NEBOSH General Certificate progressing to NEBOSH Diploma
  • Willing to learn and apply lessons learned.

     

    Key Responsibilities and Duties

     

     

  • Support and/or manage the investigation of accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, near misses and other incidents as directed.
  • Support and/or manage the conducting of risk assessments as required by legislation and review at relevant intervals.
  • Maintain H&S records of the same.
  • Support in the conducting & carrying out internal and compliance audits, report on findings and manage issue log through to completion.
  • Support in the carrying out all risk assessments and special assessments as required by business, including display screen equipment, manual handling, lone working, forklift loading, pregnant workers, young workers etc.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports and documents as required.
  • Attend such courses/seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organisation.
  • Any other ad hoc health and safety duties as require
