Facilities Manager Requirements:

Demonstrable knowledge and experience of facilities/building management
Stakeholder management
People management
Resilience with ability to quickly find solutions
Familiar with Lean / Continuous improvement methodology
Budget management
IOSH Managing Safely – desirable
GCSE > Grade 5 or equivalent in English and Maths (old grade C)
Business Studies qualification - desirable

Facilities Manager Duties:

Working collaboratively with key stakeholders to ensure compliance with procurement rules
Point of call for onsite issues – validate what needs to happen – including site equipment
Overseeing and managing local contracts and provision of services including security, parking, cleaning, etc
Ensuring that basic facilities, such as water and heating, are well-maintained
Managing facilities budgets and ensuring cost-effectiveness
Overseeing building maintenance, renovations, or refurbishments
Monthly reporting on shift premiums/compliance testing ect
Manage the maintenance of the building by performing repairs or contracting maintenance services as needed
Track building upkeep as well as anticipated long- and short-term improvements and maintenance
Handle certain administrative tasks, such as preparing reports for facility owners
Respond to emergency situations or other urgent issues involving the facility.
Providing analysis and delivering insight that links financial reports to business strategies
Improving the impact, and understanding, of financial reporting on business performance
Providing effective commercial procedures, or initiating change, to ensure key operational, commercial and financial targets are delivered
Building partnerships and strong relationships with all senior managers and their teams and providing financial support to commercial decision making
Delivering analysis and insight on business opportunities; providing options and scenarios for business decisions
Presenting financial performance, full year forecasts and budget variances including understanding financial opportunities and risk
Assisting with year-end audit
Understanding the cost drivers of the business and providing insight to the non-finance members
Monitoring communication boards/Visual Management Centres
