Finance & Accounts Manager

Full-Time Permanent Opportunity

Office Based

Ripponden, Halifax

Monday – Friday 09:30 – 17:30

£29,000 - £30,000

Working for a very successful SME who is a seller and distributor to global markets, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the business as an Accounts Manager.

The purpose of the role will be to help accurately manage, oversee and maintain UK financial data, systems and credit control. Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Month end close for UK
  •   Help improve procedures, integrate new systems
  •   Help integrate accounts, ledgers, systems with website hub
  •   The role will also involve other duties, support for other roles.

Key responsibilities to manage (and not limited to the below);

  • Monthly Management Accounts / Reports
  • Annual Accounts preparation
  • Balance sheet reconciliations,
  • P&L analysis (including exchange rate variance)
  • VAT return quarterly (deferred VAT) / Import Reclaim /
  • Accruals and Prepayments
  • Debtor reconciliation
  • Xero data input / bank reconciliation
  • Inter-company ledgers and reconciliation  
  • Track and resolve accounting problems and discrepancies as needed
  • Assist with cost planning as required
  • Manage Credit Control
  • Manage key account ledgers
  • Daily cash management
  • Daily reconciliation

RELATIONSHIPS

Building and progressing good relationships is key.

Develop working relationships with:

  • The UK Managing Director, whom you will be directly responsible to.
  • UK Office team members
  • Accountants
  • Shipping agents
  • Suppliers & regulators
  • Government Agencies eg. HMRC

SKILLS NEEDED

  • 3-5 years’ experience in finance
  • Advanced Excel Advanced Excel Skills (pivot tables, lookups, CSV)
  • Website / good search skills / comfortable with a computer
  • Skype / IM messaging such as WhatsApp if required
  • Be flexible and adaptable to new software / ways of working
